Hi Satish,
The training for IT and non IT is different. You'll be placed in different batches based on IT/non IT background. But overall, it doesn't make much difference.

I just wanna know whether the IT and non IT candidates (belonging to same college) would get different ILP centres or same?

Actually it does not depend at all whether you are IT ot non IT candidate, even not on college.
Four students from our batch were selected for TCS - same batch, same college and IT background, but two of us were sent to Hyderabad and the other two were in Trivandrum for ILP.
It does not make any difference where your ILP is, these 2 months would be golden days of your life, believe me.

But actually my problem is that I belong to CS while my gf belongs to Civil, both are into TCS. If we get different ILP centres, then shall I be able to change my ILP centre according to her. (I know this is weird...but I still need ur comment...lol)

Unfortunately, you cannot ask for a preferred ILP centre. The only thing you can do is hope for the best and hope that you and your gf get the same ILP centre.
I'd like to share a similar experience during my ILP in Hyderabad. A couple who got into TCS from the same college; the girl got the ILP centre as Trivandrum somewhere in June and the boy had not got the joining letter till that time. Because of some personal issues, the girl asked her HR to postpone the joining date, so that she could join in the next batch.
You may say it's a pure luck that after few days, both received the joining letters to join ILP in Hyderabad and that too on the same date. So, I hope you and your gf get the same ILP centre and the same batch :)

If you have a friend to accompany you then you can ask for sharing the room with him, not a problem at all.
Your second question is obvious at this moment. Believe me, ILP days were the golden days of my life. I had never enjoyed so much before. Restrictions are there, but you have lot of time to have fun, roam around the city and enjoy. Even during training hours you'll have lot of fun with Soft Skills sessions.

will there be tests conducted during the ILP period ?...
do they EXPEL US if we do not perform well?.....

There are many mock tests during ILP. There will be a final test and this test is very important. They don't banish you for not performing well, but the results of this test determines your rating in the first quarter.

Cool Blog....i wish i too C my courier soon. I was recruited on june 28 , can u predict wen il receive . Can i call and ask dem , else i better wait patiently...do suggest

You didn't mention the year but I guess it's 2006. So, if you had received the offer letter on June 28, 2006 then you will receive your joining letter shortly. Check with your fellow colleagues. If anyone of them have received it, you may wait for some time and then call the HR.
If the date u mentioned is June 28, 2007 (not 2006) then you have to wait. I waited for my joining letter for around a year. So, have patience, it pays... :)

I'm chandrasekar got selected through oncampus on june'06.I had received my BGC form,and some of my friends got verification call from TCS,but right now i didn't get any call from the respective authorities.so Can u tell me do all the guys get the verification call from TCS?

Background clearance is very important for TCS and they call each and every candidate for the verification.
